What is a yoga retreat all about?

A yoga retreat is about getting away from it all for a few days, enjoying lots of beautiful yoga classes, and experiencing true relaxation in gorgeous countryside surroundings.

Who doesn't need that in their life?!

You'll embrace the theme - which could be something like vitality or reset - and take away a feeling and concept that will benefit your daily life long after the retreat is over. 

This is about so much more than one weekend!

For us, a luxury UK yoga retreat is all about those special little touches that make every moment feel deeply luxurious.

Daily yoga, nature, and lots of fun

We always plan an extra activity depending on the time of year, the theme of the retreat, our energy, and - as it's a yoga retreat in the UK, we're obviously mindful of the Great British weather!

This could be something like:

  • Painting

  • Gong bath and sound healing sessions

  • Acupuncture

  • Wild yoga out in the open if the weather is on our side!

  • Local guided walks

  • Another variation of yoga e.g. hatha yoga, kundalini yoga or yoga nidra

  • Wild swimming

  • Flower arranging

  • Meditation sessions

  • Massage

  • Reflexology

A typical day on one of our UK yoga breaks

We host a series of weekend yoga retreats in the United Kingdom throughout the year in picture-perfect settings like the Lake District, Wales and Yorkshire. 

We might be biased, but we've tried others and we truly believe these are the best yoga retreats out there if you love feeling welcome, truly looked after, and connected to yourself and others (with a lot of laughs thrown in).

MORNING

You'll wander to the kitchen in your slippers to start the day with fresh juices, fruits, and a herbal tea or coffee.

Then, it's time for your morning practice! Heading to the studio for one to two hours of yoga and breath work to energise you up for a fantastic day ahead!

After working up an appetite on the mat, we'll head for a leisurely breakfast, freshly cooked by our private chef whilst we socialise around the dining table.

AFTERNOON

Next, there will either be a group activity like a local guided walk, wild swim, or zip-lining through underground caverns , all depending on our energy, theme  and the weather of course! These fun trips out provide fabulous memories & experiences!

However sometimes there is ample free time for you to make the retreat experience truly your own, an adventurous hike, paddle boarding or horse riding on the beach. Perhaps keeping it chilled, reading a book in the garden or booking yourself in for a on-site treatment.

Following this, you'll enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea snack to fuel an afternoon of joy.

EVENING

In the evening we practice calming, releasing & harmonising yoga practices, which include yin yoga & yoga nidra to soothe all your senses.

We'll then indulge in a two-course dinner and while away hours eating, chatting, sharing stories and really getting to know one another. 

We sometimes connect over board games (Articulate is a favourite to bring out people's competitive side and produce a lot of giggles!), long conversations, films or sound healing.

Before a restful nights sleep in your own private room or perhaps wishing your new friends sweet dreams.

We also offer day retreats in our beautiful Lancashire yoga studio if you're local to us or fancy travelling there for a taster of retreat life before you explore a full weekend.

 

A day retreat includes a delicious meal, a mixture of yoga practices centred on the theme and creative workshops to indulge your artistic side and have a lot of fun along the way!
